We are seeking a compassionate, skilled, and culturally sensitive Podiatrist to serve the Native American community in the Porterville area. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a difference in a community-focused environment that emphasizes holistic wellness and patient partnership.

Position Summary

The Podiatrist will provide comprehensive foot and ankle care including diagnosis, treatment, prevention, and education. This role is vital in supporting individuals with chronic conditions such as diabetes and in promoting long-term foot health. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative team member, capable of delivering high-quality care with professionalism and cultural sensitivity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform physical exams and diagnostics for lower extremity conditions

  • Treat and manage foot and ankle disorders through surgical and non-surgical methods

  • Prescribe medications, orthotics, and physical therapy

  • Provide patient education on foot care and fall prevention

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams

  • Maintain accurate, timely electronic medical records

  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and team meetings

  • Provide after-hours on-call support as needed

Qualifications

  • Required:

    • Doctor of Podiatric Medicine (DPM)

    • Valid California license to practice podiatric medicine

    • Current BCLS, DEA, and NPI certifications

    • Strong communication skills and ability to serve diverse populations

    • Ability to travel and participate in on-call coverage

    • Proficiency in the use of office and medical equipment

    • Commitment to confidentiality and cultural competence

  • Preferred:

    • 2–4 years of clinical experience

    • ACLS and/or PALS certification

    • Familiarity with accreditation standards such as AAAHC or JCAHO

Additional Requirements

  • Valid California driver’s license and insurability

  • Successful completion of pre-employment background check, drug test, physical exam, and TB/COVID-19 screening

  • Full COVID-19 vaccination required prior to start

  • Professional appearance and demeanor required
