Physician – Anav Tribal Health Clinic
Location: Fort Jones, CA

Pay: $170/hour
Assignment: 13 weeks (with potential to transition to full-time)
Position Summary
The Physician works under the supervision of the Medical
Director to provide primary care to program patients on an outpatient basis.
This role includes conducting regular outpatient clinics, performing general
medical and pediatric examinations, diagnosing and treating patients, and
determining when specialist services are needed for complex cases.
The Physician also analyzes clinical records, provides
professional patient care, and consults on cases requiring further evaluation.
Participation in organizational meetings is expected to help develop, modify,
and evaluate medical procedures aimed at improving patient care and outcomes.
Essential Functions
- Provide
direct primary care services as granted through the credentialing
and privileging processes.
- Review
the medical policies and procedures manual annually and make
recommendations to the Medical Director.
- Participate
in organization-wide performance improvement activities as a member
of the medical team.
- Follow
reporting guidelines as required by Federal, State, local, and Tribal
laws.
- Provide
medical consultation and advice to committees such as Managed Care,
Medical Records, and Continuous Quality Assurance.
- Assist
medical staff in the development and training of educational programs
for staff and patients.
- Record
patient visits promptly and accurately using the SOAP format.
- Consult
with the Medical Director to ensure the delivery of quality
healthcare.
- Provide
medical services in community settings, including homes, schools,
clinics, and job sites within the Anav Tribal Health Clinic service area.
- Be
available for local and out-of-area travel for job-related training
and meetings.
- Perform
other job duties as assigned, in a professional and courteous manner.
Education
- Doctor
of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathy (DO) from a U.S.-accredited
medical school or equivalent foreign institution recognized for
providing comparable medical education.
Experience
- At
least one year of supervised experience providing direct services
in a clinical setting (internship or first year of residency).
- Must
possess a permanent, current, full, and unrestricted license to
practice medicine in one of the fifty U.S. states.
- California
medical license preferred.
- Must
provide documentation of immunity to measles, rubella, and
Hepatitis B; annual TB evaluation required.
- Must
adhere to confidentiality and HIPAA policies.
- Must
successfully pass a pre-employment drug screen and criminal
background check.

to maintain professional and harmonious working relationships with
staff and the public.
- Ability
to understand and follow oral and written instructions effectively.
Other Requirements
- Must
comply with all immunization and health requirements (Hepatitis B,
TB, etc.).
- Must
adhere to Tribal drug and alcohol policies, including
pre-employment screening.
- Must
successfully pass a background check.
Assignment Details
- 13-week
contract assignment with the possibility of permanent, full-time
hire.
- $170
per hour, with travel and lodging provided as applicable.
