Make a Meaningful Impact Through Community-Focused Care

A tribal Health Care facility is seeking two Locum Tenens General Dentists to join its dedicated dental team. This is an excellent opportunity for a compassionate provider who is committed to delivering high-quality, patient-centered dental care while serving an underserved community.

Position Summary

As a General Dentist, you will provide comprehensive preventive, restorative, and emergency dental services for patients of all ages. You will work collaboratively with an experienced multidisciplinary healthcare team to diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of oral health conditions while promoting overall wellness.

Travel Requirement: Your primary worksite plus two other nearby sites

Providers should expect to travel approximately one day per week to provide dental services. The commute is approximately 30 minutes from the primary worksite, and travel is considered part of the assignment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform comprehensive oral examinations and develop individualized treatment plans.
  • Review medical histories and identify conditions that may affect dental treatment.
  • Diagnose and treat common dental diseases and oral health conditions.
  • Interpret dental radiographs and diagnostic findings.
  • Administer local anesthesia safely and effectively.
  • Restore simple and complex carious lesions using approved restorative materials.
  • Provide a broad scope of general dentistry services, including restorative dentistry, prosthodontics, endodontics, oral surgery, and pediatric dentistry.
  • Refer patients requiring specialty care when appropriate.
  • Educate patients on preventive oral healthcare and treatment options.
  • Maintain accurate and timely electronic health records.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Adhere to HIPAA, infection control, and professional standards of practice.
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • D.D.S. or D.M.D. degree from a CODA-accredited dental school.
  • Current and unrestricted Arizona Dental License.
  • Strong clinical skills across all aspects of general dentistry.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Commitment to culturally sensitive, patient-centered care.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience serving rural, tribal, or underserved populations.
  • Knowledge of the culture.
  • Bilingual skills are a plus.

Requirements

  • Current Dental License. (Any State)
  • Successful completion of a criminal background check and FBI fingerprint clearance.
  • Valid driver’s license with an acceptable driving record (if applicable).
  • Ability to meet tribal employment and insurance requirements.

  • Schedule: 4 days per week — Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM
