We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our urgent care team in Alaska. This role is ideal for a dedicated clinician who enjoys working in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment with a focus on rural and community-based care.
?? Position Summary:
As an Urgent Care Advanced Practice Provider, you will deliver comprehensive urgent care to patients of all ages and backgrounds. Your scope includes diagnosing and treating acute conditions, performing minor procedures, coordinating referrals, and supporting high-quality patient experiences through excellent communication and clinical judgment.
?? Key Responsibilities:

Provide full-spectrum urgent care services, including diagnosis, treatment, and minor procedures

Maintain timely and accurate medical documentation
-
Utilize strong listening skills to ensure excellent patient experiences

Collaborate with physicians and consult with specialists when necessary
-
Participate in quality initiatives, meetings, and medical staff functions
-
Maintain communication with a collaborative physician, as required by state medical board regulations (for PAs)
?? Qualifications:
-
Current State of Alaska Medical License (NP or PA)

Board Certification in your specialty
-
Active, unrestricted DEA registration
-
BLS Certification required
-
ACLS, PALS, and ATLS certifications within one year for providers involved in after-hours emergency care in remote clinics

Minimum 2 years of clinical experience as a practicing provider (or equivalent pre-licensure clinical background as approved by the Medical Director)
?? Preferred Skills and Knowledge:

Proficiency in primary care, urgent care, and basic emergency protocols

Familiarity with disease processes, pharmacology, EMTALA, HIPAA, and malpractice principles

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Competence in health education, risk discussion, and treatment planning

Experience working with electronic medical records and clinical technology

Ability to promote teamwork and resolve conflict professionally
